Privacy & Decorative Film
Living close to neighbors or a busy street doesn't mean giving up natural light. We install the full range of LLumar privacy and decorative films — from reflective daytime one-way film to soft frosted and custom patterned looks — so you can control what people see without closing the blinds.

Privacy with style
One-way daytime privacy
Reflective film gives you daytime privacy from the street while you keep your outward view.
Frosted & etched looks
Obscure bathrooms, entry sidelights and glass doors while still letting light through.
Decorative & patterned
Frosted, patterned and gradient films add style and can match your décor.
HOA-friendly options
Low-reflectivity and clear-frost options help meet common HOA appearance rules.

Where privacy film shines
Every room has different privacy needs, so we don't install a single 'privacy film' — we match the product to the problem. A street-facing living room usually calls for reflective daytime film that keeps your view out while blocking the view in; a bathroom or entry sidelight is often better served by a frosted or etched finish that diffuses light without any reflectivity at all. We'll talk through how each room is used and any HOA appearance guidelines before recommending a film.

How Daytime Privacy Film Actually Works — and Its Limits
One-way privacy film relies on a simple imbalance of light, not magic: during the day, the outdoor light hitting your windows is far brighter than the light inside your home, so the reflective coating on the film bounces that outdoor light back and makes the glass act like a mirror from the street. Once the sun goes down and your interior lights are brighter than what's outside, that balance flips — anyone outside can see in just as they would through untreated glass unless blinds or curtains are closed.
There's also a real difference between the peel-and-stick privacy film sold at hardware stores and professionally installed film. DIY film is applied dry or with basic soap and water, which tends to trap air bubbles and lets edges lift and peel within a year or two, especially in Southern California heat. Our LLumar film is applied with a professional wetting solution and squeegeed edge to edge for a clean, bubble-free result, and it's backed by a manufacturer warranty that store-bought film doesn't carry.
Decorative film isn't limited to homes, either — home offices and small businesses use frosted or patterned film on interior glass partitions and doors to add privacy and a finished look without the cost of replacing glass.
